Another hint for Tianjin Explosion being nuclear:

Amercian Dan van Duren who made the viral video of the explosion and his friend got SUNBURN from Explosion-flash at night (23:30 local time).

Sunburn is mainly caused by UV- light from sources above 3000°C  (welding, sun, nuclear explosion), not by normal fire (up to 1000°C).

90These post-nuclear effects are described in : Planning Guidance for Response to a Nuclear Detonation, 2.edition 2010, page 25

Hint: This study mainly discusses effects of a (normally more effective ) above-ground 10 KT (Kilo-Tons TNT)-Explosion.  If the explosion is underground (as possibly in Tianjin) these effects are strongly reduced !

The media are trying to hide this info about Dan van Duren:

TIANJIN, China — An American who survived massive blasts that devastated the Chinese city of Tianjin said he and his girlfriend were struggling to recover after the disaster destroyed their home.
"We've got to start over, there's not much we can do but just start over and do the best that we can do," Dan Van Duren told NBC News on Thursday.
The explosions blew out many windows, forced doors off their hinges and littered glass and debris throughout the apartment. At least 114 people were killed and more than 700 hospitalized in the August 12 blasts at a chemical warehouse.
Van Duren and his girlfriend Ying had been trying to watch a meteor shower from the 34-story apartment building's roof when the disaster unfolded, lighting up the night sky. Van Duren, an aircraft mechanic originally from Washington, caught the tremendous flashes on his camera phone in video that went around the world.
"We're still confused by what really started it, what really happened, why there were so many chemicals, why there was such a big explosion," Van Duren said, adding that he had mixed feelings about staying on in China.
"I knew that so many people died at that moment," he said. "I've had a hard time dealing with that, about once a day I just get really emotional about it."
( Not mentioning NUCLEAR and SUNBURN !)

Witness Dan Van Duren videos massive Tianjin explosion video
An American who captured footage of the port explosion in China that killed at least 50 people says it was "like watching a nuclear bomb go off in front of us".
Daniel Van Duren, a California native who lives in Tianjin, was at the top of a 33-story building to look for shooting stars when dangerous chemicals at the port about 1km away caught fire and started detonating.
"It devastated our building along with many other..It was like watching a nuclear bomb go off in front of us," Van Duren wrote on YouTube.
Are we dangerous here?" his friend asks him at one point on the video. "Ya-ha-ha we're dangerous," Van Duren quips back.
But as the blasts continue they panic and run away safety.
With the building damaged, they had to climb down all 33 flights of stairs to escape.
The blast gave Van Duren and his friend sunburn, he says.

Daniel Van Duren, an American who lives in Tianjin, was at the top of his 33-story apartment complex when the Tianjin explosions ripped through the city. Van Duren captured a video, which is quickly going viral, of the moment two apocalyptic-like blasts erupted in Tianjin. In the video, Van Duren can be heard commenting on what looks like a large fire, believing it was a gas station up in flames. He quickly realizes the truth when the first of two Tianjin explosions goes off, shaking the building, the video’s YouTube description explains.
“We were less than 1km from it on top of our 33 story apartment… It devastated our building along with many other… It was like watching a nuclear bomb go off in front of us!!”
The strength of the Tianjin blasts reportedly even gave Van Duren and his friend a sunburn.
